Through funding from the DOE SBIR/STTR program, and in collaboration with the University of California, Berkeley, under the direction of Prof. Allen Goldstein, we have co-developed a gas chromatograph- mass spectrometry (GC-MS) system for atmospheric aerosols.

Our system yields approximate hourly concentrations for organic marker compounds in atmospheric aerosols. An example chromatogram is shown below. More detail is given in our publications.
Current efforts include improved quantification with in-situ calibration standards, and adaptation of two-dimensional chromatography for separation and analysis of polar compounds.
